The Origin of The Garden Warrior Queen ™

🌿 The Origin of the Garden Warrior Queen
*How a Wee Princess, a Willow Tree, and a World of Wonder Grew Into a Realm*

Long before the crown, long before the Realm of Sun & Soil, long before Father Bartley took up his post as Royal Guardian… there was simply a little girl who loved dirt.

🌱 A Wee Princess and the Seeds of a Kingdom
Back when I was a wee princess, I could spend hours outside with my hands deep in the earth, hair wild from the wind, pockets full of carrot tops and potato eyes I was determined to coax back to life. I didn’t know it then, but every tiny sprout I nurtured was the beginning of a kingdom.

I grew up in England, in a converted stable of all places; complete with swinging saloon doors on the bathroom (a design choice I still question). In the front yard stood an old windmill with wooden planks across it. I used it as a balance beam until the day I fell in and had to be rescued two days later. After that, I retired from windmill acrobatics.

But oh, the land around that home…

Buttercup fields that glowed like spilled sunshine.
 Wildflowers that whispered secrets.
A tortoise named Buttercup who wandered like a tiny, armored knight.

There was always some creature joining the adventure; rabbits, a hamster named Cookie (who loved tea biscuits), a monkey for a spell, a Chihuahua with more attitude than sense, and a Saint Bernard who was… well… not the brightest torch in the castle.

Nature was my playground, my teacher, and my first love.

🌳 The Weeping Willow: The Queen’s Sanctuary
And then there was the weeping willow.

My favorite tree in all the world. Graceful. Ancient. Wise.

When I grew older and planted one for my boys, it became our family’s quiet sanctuary. When we sold the house, leaving that willow behind felt like leaving a piece of my heart.

So, in the Realm, the Queen always returns to her willow to write her recipes, meditate, tell stories, or simply breathe.

🌿 Gardens Built from nothing (and everything)
Years passed, kingdoms changed, and I found myself in America with new adventures, new gardens, and new heartbreaks like the day our beautiful German Shepherd, Tina, was stolen from our yard. Some losses stay with you. They shape the way you protect what you love.

But the garden always called me back.

When space was tight, I built the **Stairway to Herbville** — a five‑step wooden stair frame I painted, waterproofed, filled with soil, and turned into a vertical herb garden. It was ridiculous. It was brilliant. It was mine.

When Joe found an abandoned wooden shipping box on the curb, we dragged it home and transformed it into a raised lettuce garden; seven varieties growing in a box that had no business surviving as long as it did. But that’s the magic of gardeners: we see potential where others see trash day.

Lavender has always been my time machine. One whiff and I’m back in England, listening to my mother sing *Lavender Blue* as she tucked me in. That scent is woven into the Realm now, a royal flower of memory and comfort.

 👑 How the Queen Emerged
And through all of this the dirt, the pets, the windmills, the herbs, the willow, the losses, the laughter, a Queen was quietly forming.

A Queen who learned resilience from fallen seedlings.
A Queen who learned courage from childhood adventures.
A Queen who learned tenderness from every creature she loved.
A Queen who learned creativity from making gardens out of nothing.
A Queen who learned that magic is real, it just grows slowly.

And so, the **Garden Warrior Queen ** was born.

Not from royalty.
Not from riches.
But from roots.

From a little girl who believed that every seed deserved a chance, every creature had a story, and every garden, no matter how small, could become a kingdom.

 🌼 Welcome to the Realm
Today, the Realm of Sun & Soil is a place where imagination blooms, creatures gather, and the Queen sits beneath her beloved willow tree, sharing tales, recipes, wisdom, and mischief with all who wander in.

Welcome to the Realm.
You’ve been part of the story longer than you know.
