ROYAL KITCHEN PROCLAMATION
By Rose Marie Sage, Executive Royal Garden Alchemist
While I was quietly contemplating tonight’s royal feast, I was interrupted by the rapid patter of garden boors and the unmistakable jingling of enthusiasm.
Sir- Sprinkles- a- Lot burst through the kitchen archway, breathless and triumphant, carrying a basket overloaded with garden finds.
Inside were the treasures of the garden: cucumbers cool as morning shade, tomatoes glowing like tiny suns, squash in gold and green, herbs still fragrant with the day’s warmth, and a handful of surprises he insisted were “for the Queen’s delight.”
I inspected his bounty and declared it worthy of the feast. The forge fires were stoked, the herb butter was stirred to life, and the vegetables were prepared with care befitting their journey from soil to table.
Thus it is proclaimed: when the Realm hungers, let the garden answer, and let
Sir -Sprinkles- a- Lot be celebrated for his noble foraging.
